The ex-cognac cask imparts a lovely high note of fine vine fruit, whilst the whiskey distillate remains an evocative canvas full of character on its own. A medium-light body with rye spice coming through towards the fnish, gives this a punchiness and strength. At the very end is a curious smokiness which is perhaps due to a heavier char on the American oak barrels.
