The smoky nose isn’t shy. While the flavor is, of course, petey and Smokey, it’s not overwhelming at all. After the initial peat impact, the flavor melts away into a light, pleasant finish that seems to last forever. In the end, I keep coming back to what this whiskey is not: it’s not too peaty, it’s not too oily, and it’s not too briney. You’re left with a near-perfect experience. Slightly spicy on the finish. My goodness this is outstanding.
