Nose: Unusual and intriguing fresh feeling that reminds mint or mentol; combined with ether and medicinal whiffs this dram reminisces mouthwash or pain relieving gel.
It also smells like liquorice, some exotic wood used for cachaça (I don't remember which one, probably amburana), wood fire and leather. To my surprise, barely no smoke.
Mouth: Medicine, mouthwash, spiciness from wood, blue cheese.
Smokiness became more obvious after sitting in the glass for about 20 minutes; warm bbq ashes, burning wood, charred meat.
Also a touch of sea salt and brown sugar.
Finish: medium. Seaweed, mouthwash, exotic wood.
