The name Ipueira refers to the land known as a charco that forms in low places, due to the flooding of rivers.
Donato Feitosa, the patriarch (the still has been in the family for 3 generations) founded the Ipueira mill in 1936, which among the attractions is a machine (W. e A. McOnie) from 1878 produced in the city of Glasgow in Scotland.
The still is located in the region of Areias in Paraíba, one of the traditional production centers of artisanal cachaça in Brazil
Currently, cachaça has already become a reference for quality.
Five cachaças from Paraíba won a gold medal in the 2022 edition of Expocachaça (Brazil's most famous distillate competition). The winning cachaças in the state were Cachaça Ipueira, Matuta Cristal and Vitória, in the white type category, in addition to Pai Vovô Ouro and Pai Vovô Reserva Especial José Vicente, both from Fazendas Aliança, in the Blends and Special Crops categories, respectively. .
