Loved the nose on this. At first you get peat then it transitions to both floral and herbal characters. Mossy and earthy. The taste was reminiscent of sitting by a fire pit and soaking in the fumes. Loved that! Very smooth and forgiving booze factor as well.

@BDanner Really?! Interesting indeed! I need to hit the local bottle shop this weekend and grab a bottle ASAP. My curiosity is peaked.
@Spirited_Away @Ctrexman the pour when the underlying notes of fresh cream, berries, apples and cereal finally kick in is damn near life changing. So much going on beneath all that smoke and tar.
I will most definitely take your word for it and grab myself a bottle when I get a chance. This was just a single pour, but it left quite the impression. Looking forward to the full experience. Btw, I just purchased a bottle of Balmorhea from the Garrison Bros. You spoke highly of them in the past so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. 😉 First pour was a touch hot, but impressive. I'll review it fully at a future date.
Nice take on this. If you get a bottle and spend some time it will reveal much more. This is exquisite single malt imo
