Amber color. On the nose I get a strong fruity character with baked apples, strawberries and cream, dark cherries, and a hint of chocolate covered orange peel, along with standard notes of caramel, cinnamon and vanilla. Medium-bodied mouthfeel. I get a lot of woodiness on the palate, with upfront notes of young oak and cinnamon toothpicks, followed by fainter notes of vanilla ice cream and creme brulee. The finish is medium-long and dry, driven by tannic oak and ground cinnamon, with a hint of black pepper. I enjoy the nose but the palate and finish make this more of a mixer for me.
