The nose starts with a wonderful blend of charred oak and gentle rye spice. There is a creamy smoothness to it, but it stays simple and dominant on the oak and spice.
The palate is somewhat dry, yet chewy, and hits the corners of the mouth first with a burst of rye spice. This is the beginning of a wave the engulfs the mouth with a tingling spice as dry, charred oak comes out with every chew.
The finish is medium long with a strong, lingering spice while oak fades in the background. The longer you sip on it, there is the slightest hint of fruit pretty far in the background, but all in all, this is pretty simple. A straight forward bomb of spice and oak. It doesn't require much thought, but that is because of how well it is done. Delicious.
