Did not like it at all. The nose and the initial taste was ok. But but but, the aftertaste we very grassy. Did not care for that at all. One person at our table described the aftertaste as Mildew. I have never tasted mildew before but I have a feel that it probably tastes like that. However, it must be our (my and one other person) palates. The rest of my drinking mates were ok with it. Now I that I am stuck with this bottle, I will finish it off by making all kind of whiskey cocktails that can potentially hide its flavor profile.
I would strongly recommend to try it out at a bar first before commiting a full bottle. Incidentally, that recommendation might also be applied for other commitements in life as well... haha. ;)

The last line of your review! 😂✌🏻🥃
Hey, no worries. I know very little about rye, but found this to be good. A little one dimensional with a spice heavy palate in my mind though. I wonder if your palate is interpreting the peppermints and leathery notes as something more rancid and sour. Perhaps 🤔
Hey! Thanks for reaching out! Yes, I have tried ryes before, and it is one of my go-to drinks. I always have one in stock, and two of my favorite rye(s) are: Angel's Envy and Elijah Craig. I ran out of my Elijah and decided to re-stock and ended up with the Whistle Pig. I remember Angel's and Craig costing less than Whistle Pig. Regrettably, I didn't find it enjoyable. Maybe my palate is more used to the cheaper stuff... hahaha. On a side note, two of my favorite non-rye are: Woodford Reserve Double Oak and Angel's Envy. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. ST
This popped up as a featured review for me, not familiar with you or your tastes; have you had ryes before?
