Bottled 6.14.23
Barrel House 2-18
Barrel # 23-05483
Aroma - brown sugar, plums, raisins, baking spices and slightly burnt marshmallow..: this is really weird nose for a JD product…I’m having doubts
Taste - brown sugar, caramel, cinnamon red hots and baking spices up front. Absolutely a metric ton of herbal spices on the backend and through the finish.
Overall - this barrel falls incredibly short of my expectations for a JDSBBP. This is one of the weakest proof JDSBBP offerings I’ve had and it’s by far the most underwhelming I’ve had. There simply is no depth or complexity. It’s viscous but the finish is medium at best and just an ethanol burn that continues. Very disappointing bottle.
My first bottle/review was absolutely fantastic and the proof was >130 proof
WT Rare Breed Rye and Stellum Rye, crushes this bottle and you save $20-40
(I would also recommend Bardstown Origins Rye, Prideful Goat 6 Yr, Willett 4 yr and many others over this)

I must say, this is the most dissapointing review I have ever read. I have the exact same bottle. Literally the EXACT SAME. I have not opened it yet and now not looking forward to opening it anytime soon.
