Nose: there's certainly the characteristic Laphroaig peat, getting some briny/saltiness and caramel, even some freshly baked bread. Subtle seaweed. Vanilla. Getting a little crystalline brown sugar as i keep going.
Palate: has some mild alcohol sharpness that you acclimate a bit too. Peat is pungeant and dank here, has a bit of a gassy note. Strong vanilla and oak notes come through as well and bring sweetness that transitions to a woody tannic drying mouthfeel. Theres some mild fruitiness here too, like a baked/stewed apple
Finish: oaky, drying, tannic. Rubbery Phenolics dont set in till later than I anticipated. Has a warmer finish than the 10 if i am remembering properly.
