Musty, dirty olives, brine, engine oil on the nose. Thick and oily on the palate with more dirty olives and brine. Finish is short, peppery and bitter. Some smoke arrives late. This lacks any charm compared to other Ardbeg offerings I’ve tasted. Improved slightly towards the end of the bottle. Was actually quite good in a Scotch Old Fashioned, which where the majority was consumed. Bumped 1/4 point.
