I purchased a few weeks back with the intention of having it as my pre-thanksgiving sip.... The nose is soft and inviting, with very light notes of berries, very light. Upon the first sip I was taken aback... This is 90 proof right?.... This blended bottle (bourbon/rye) is very soft, yet spicy, and there is a sweetness about it that reminds me of drizzles of honey. Throughout my sips i could taste faint notes of apple, maybe a green apple... Not the candy type but more of a natural flavor. Yes, it's different than my essential bourbons (WT101, EC, BT, EW BiB, etc), but sometimes different is good. I definetly would like to try the other expressions from Redwood Empire. As for tonight, I'll continue to sip on... Happy Thanksgiving.
