Exploring the campbell town after springbank 10. Hazelburn 13 olosoro distilled 2007. Nose - Very fresh as expected, like apples and grapes. Clear sherry nose. A few wiffs of medicine and floral notes show up as well. For some reason i also smell sweat! Taste - sweet at first, spicyness, strong sherry flavor! Mild smokyness as well, has a strange drop off from the sweetness to the funk. Not springbank 10 funk, but something like wet moss or grass. Leaves me with a medicine cabinet feel. Finish is medium. Interesting and strange experience! Ill give the bottle the benefit of the doubt. The lounge has that bottle for a long while it was almost empty. Perhaps a lot of oxidization etc., has changed the character of the spirit. Will have to revisit this later with a fresh bottle.
