LAGG Corriecravie
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed February 22, 2025 (edited February 23, 2025)Nose - I haven’t smelled anything like this! Hits with so much sweetness, but so much dampness. Like a wet carpet or old cabin. I get bananas, papayas, grapes, cloves, feels so heavy! So excited to try! Tongue - so sweet, sugar syrup, dessert red wine, molasses, heavy mouth feel. Spicy probably due to youth. So oily, i get hints of peat, but mild. The sherry influence is strong and beautiful! Very punchy as well! Thoroughly surprised and really looking forward what this distillery has in store in the future. -
Craigellachie 13 Year Armagnac Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 22, 2025 (edited February 23, 2025)Nose - really sweet. Fruity. Clear brandy influence. Leathery. Orange, grapefruits, red fruits, citrusy and strong grape aromas! Makes total sense as rhe finish is armagnac. I get apples as well and like mild peat. Reminds me of summertime in a wet rainy place. If that makes sense. Tongue - rich mouthfeel. Semi sweet, grapes and red fruits! Coats the mouth well. There is a dirty note, funky. Leathery, syrupy. Feels fresh for some reason. This would be an excellent summer scotch. Finish is medium. -
GlenDronach Revival 15 Year (2009-2015)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 27, 2024 (edited January 3, 2025)Nose - a strong nose! Get tons of dried fruit, red fruits. Strong sherry cask influence, obviously. Mild smokiness as well even though I dont believe it has any peat. I get hints of chocolate and caramel as well. Tongue - get hints of fruit and molasses. I expected it to be oily for some reason, but its not as much as i thought. There’s some spicyness as well. Fairly sweet. I get plums, raisins. It surely is a sherry bomb! Finish is medium. If you love sherry finished whiskies you would really love this! Probably, my favorite sherry cask whisky i have tried in my limited experience so far! -
Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask
Single Malt — Isle of Mull , Scotland
Reviewed November 2, 2024 (edited January 10, 2025)Nose - smells dirty, leathery, grassy but also has sweetness. I get hints of decent amount of peat as well, smoky. I can clearly smell wine and red fruits. I also get oils and chemicals. Gorgeous color. Tongue - immediately get hit with sweetness. Has a wine like mouth feel. It checks of points that ledaig 10 was missing. Decent hints of cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg and cloves. It coats the mouth really well! Rich mouth feel. Added two drops of water - seems like it got sweeter. On the tongue it got smokier. Leaves a leathery after taste which i love. Its a wonderful dram which I prefer over the 10 year old. -

Reviewed October 12, 2024 (edited October 13, 2024)Found this rare elusive spirit in the wild. Gorgeous deep golden brown color. Seems oily. Nose - a very strong powerful nose! High abv kicks it off! Get a atrong bourbon vibe! Grassy, sweet. Also medicinal, like an ointment. Funky! Super ripe Banana, peach, mildy citrusy. Brown sugar and caramel show up too! Such a different and complex nose! So exited to try this!! Tongue - very sweet! Get notes of banana pudding. Spicy, probably due to high abv! Coats the mouth so well! Unique. I haven’t tasted anything like it before. A very subtle leathery peaty quality. Not smoky but peaty! Added two drops of water - became more chocolaty! The water really opened it up! Theres a citrusy and salty vibe to it but its still so sweet, Love it! Spicyness went up as well! It is dirty and funky! Not everyones cup of tea. Reminds me of warm breeze and meadowlands! Its super strong, has an interesting warmth. Very grape forward, like overripe grapes! Strong molasses and sugarcane aromas show up. Wonderfully rich, raisiny and oily. Coats the mouth really well. Laphroaig 10 Year Sherry Oak Finish
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 9, 2024 (edited July 12, 2024)Nose - peaty, raisinish. Gives off strong wine vibes. There is a mintyness to it. Farily complex nose. Sweet and funky at the same time. Strong sherry hits! After waiting for some time and giving it a sniff i get a hit of red grapes! Tongue - sweetness from the sherry, combined with medicinal peat. Its like drinking red wine with peat in it. Very unique. Raisins and prunes, with hints of burnt wood and charcoal. I love the aftertaste. The red wine feel is like a semi dry style wine. Much better than the regular laphroaig 10. Love the color! Finish is medium. After letting it is sip, it opened a little and it got spicy. I prefer the nose over the tongue!! But a really good dram! -
Nose - It is dirty! Such strong chemical smells, wet rain, rubber and peat. I also get something savory, like bacon, medicine! Reminds me a little of lagavulin. Tongue - very medicinal, funky and dirty. Feels oily as well. I feel like it doesnt cover all areas of my taste buds. It feels like it falls off, but not in a bad way. Get some peat and herbs and grassy notes. After soemtime in the glass i get subtle hints of sweetness! It has a farmy quality, like a wet farmyard in the mountains! The finish is short. But a very interesting tasting dram! Very good! It is a stinky whisky that i feel like is not a cup of tea for everyone and is moody! But if you are in the moody you would thoroughly enjoy it!

Aberlour A'bunadh Alba
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 19, 2024 (edited April 20, 2024)Nose - a very chocolatey nose. Sweet desserts like donuts and puddings. I smell kheer which is an Indian dessert! I also smell cardomom. I do get an abv hit! Doesn’t surpise me as its 60.1%. Taste - oily and really sweet! Tastes like honey and apple pie. It has a very strange warm feel in the mouth. Mild spicyness due to high abv. Medium long finish. It reminds me of a fresh of the over apple pie with vanilla ice cream. I also get grapes and candied apple! The bourbon barrel influence is very evident. Bourbon drinkers would love this whisky. Thoroughly enjoyed this dram. I personally prefer the regular abunadh but this is wonderful as well. -
