Ardbeg 10 Year Cask Strength
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 15, 2026 (edited May 23, 2026)I did not expect to be able to get this bottle. But found it at binnys. Tried it with my bro on a beautiful rainy day. Nose - A quintessential ardbeg nose to begin with. But you can tell its more complex. A lot more fruit notes. Decent amount peat but its not the usual charcoal or leather peat. I personally get burnt wood type smoke. Like a fireplace that is about to go out. I do not get the usual bacon or ham notes that are common on other ardbegs. It also has such a perfumy quality. Not cheap, but like a high end fragrance, musk and so much sandalwood. If this was an actual fragrance i would wear it everyday! Palate - Get hit with a ton of sweetness. Probably the sweetest Ardbeg expression ive had. Coats the mouth really well. A mild burnt flavor, like charred fruit. A second sip just gave me so much mango and fruit sweetness. This for some reason is different than the regular ardbeg 10. Not meaty flavors, but lots of fruits, and wood. I get oakiness too. There is pepper in the backend and some grass! Wow! What a roller coaster! Loved it to the core! -
Glendronach Ode to the Valley
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 21, 2026 (edited February 23, 2026)Nose - wow! I smell so much sherry. I also get oranges and lemons. It smells like it has heavy wine influence. I also get a strange cooling effect on the nose. Tongue - heavy sherry influence. Theres a tonic water vibe to it too. Slighty medicinal. It is sweet with a slightly citrusy finish. I get fruit cake, chocolate and molasses. It starngely gives me a savory note as well. Really good expression from glendronach. -
Ardnamurchan AD/The Midgie
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed February 21, 2026 (edited February 23, 2026)Nose - right of the bat very sweet on the nose. Fresh fruits, orchard fruits. A mild amount of leather. Grapes and mangos dominate and some bananas too. Suddenly got hit with some coconut. The nose finishes with a little hint of salt. Tongue - right of the bat, so sweet. It has a syrupy texture. I get sugar syrup and honey. The most interesting note of apple skin, like that waxy nature. I also get a little bit of leather, but the best part i get a big honey hit in the end. Finish is medium. A beautiful whisky which is surprisingly affordable. -
Got this bottle as gift from some wonderful friends. Have to say, the presentation is wonderful. Perhaps, one of the best looking bottles in the whisky world. The spirit itself has a beautiful golden/amber color. Nose - immediately get hit with tons of orchard fruits. I get apples, pears, mango skin. Hints of flowers such as jasmine, rose, lavender are present as well. Also get some ethanol, suggesting that it maybe young? Not sure. Will become once I taste. I also get mild amount of lemon, orange and some salt on the nose. Very very fresh and vibrant smellinb nose. Has a perfumy quality to it too. Tongue - first thing i feel is this cooling effect on the tongue. Then im hit immediately with lots of sweetness! Wow, is this sweet or what?! In a good way. Doesnt coat the mouth that well but thats expected of a lower abv spirit. I get sugar syrup, tart apples, pineapples, banana. I do get lots of floral notes. While it doesnt taste like parsley, but i am reminded of those kinds of herbs. Especially, the after taste. This is very interesting. Finish is short. On the mouth it feels like a younger whisky that has been diluted, but somehow still rich enough. The cooling effect lingers. All in all, a very pleasant, easy sipper! Perfect for spring and summer.

Ardnamurchan The ArdnAmerica Tour Bottling Cask Strength Peated Sauternes Barriques
Single Malt — Argylle, Scotland
Reviewed September 14, 2025 (edited February 13, 2026)Got this bottle as a gift for my birthday. Ardnamurchan has become my second favorite distillery. Excited to own this. Nose - Mild peat smoke. Have to say off the bat, has a mature peat type feel. Not overly powerful. You get fruit syrup and citrus behind the peat. It smells similar to the AD/10 except for the peat. Lots if tropical fruit sweetness. Tangerines and mangoes and pineapple. The smoke is like mild burnt logs. I also get hints of iodine and saltiness. Smells refreshing. Tongue - very oily right on the first sip. Oily ad rich! Get much more peat on the tongue than the nose. Has some sharpness! Seems to be young. Coats the mouth well. Pretty sweet but not as much as the AD/10. Has a little medicinal quality too. The sweetness is like that of a moscato. The nose evolved as i tasted and i do get a leathery tobacco vibe. I get saltiness as well on tongue. It seems to be interacting with the sides of tongue palette, leaving the middle. A very interesting dram! The AD/10 is my favorite ardnamurchan so far, but i do love this pour. Added a little water. The peat on the nose is much milder now. Feels a lot more syrupy now. I get a lot more apples and grapes. The sharpness went away significantly. Perhaps it was the high abv. It’s beautifully sweet and peaty. I get more leather, apple cider, spice and grapes. Yes, water opens this up a lot more. Highly recommend adding a amall dash of water! 90/100.89.99 USD per Bottle -
So a chance encounter of a hidden store, led me to find this bottle. The arran sauternes cask I found was the pre 2019 bottling. The price was amazing so I purchased it. Nose - very fruity, a hit of tropical fruits like pineapple and mango. Smells very fresh, feels cool to the nose. Like a summer drink vibe. I also get oranges, grapefruit. At the back end i get some leather and something funky. I also get a hint of whipped cream and banana. Tongue - a very sweet fruit forward introduction. Has a syrupy texture. A lot more sweeter than i thought it would be. It has a lot of similarities to the new Ardnamurchan AD/10, perhaps, due to the both being white wine finishes, granted that Paul Launois is a champagne. It has richness and oiliness however, it is missing something on the mid palate. It has a little spice, not much. The finish is medium short. The aftertaste is like sweetened grapefruit juice. All in all a solid dram. It does have a very dessert like vibe to it. Its a great, sit at the beach on a summer day sipper.

Reviewed June 21, 2025 (edited December 31, 2025)Hosted a tasting night and cracked open this beauty. Nose - very syrupy nose. Fruit forward, orchard fruits! Apples, green grapes, rich but light nose. Reminds me fruit markets in summer in India, the aroma in the air would be filled with all kinds of fruits Has a fresh feel, perfect for summers. Very mild hint of leather. Tongue - beautiful flavor. Coats the mouth so well. Very orchardy and fruity. I get mangos and banana and peach syrup. Medium finish. This scotch is a beautiful beach day dram. Sitting by the beach, enjoying the waves, shade and cool breeze, and this dram, sounds like a dream. Thoroughly enjoyed this expression from Ardnamurchan. The finish is short. -
Still Austin The Musician Cask Strength
Bourbon — Texas, USA
Reviewed May 12, 2025 (edited June 21, 2025)Just wanted to try! Nose - caramel, woody, slightly floral and farmy. Lots of alcohol presence! Leathery backend as well. Classic bourbon aromas with a hint of grassyness. Tongue - creamy and chocolaty. Maple syrup and baking spices. Get tons of cloves and anise type refreshing spice. Very oily as well. Has an interesting medicinal quality. Not as sweet as i expected it. Decently spiced, with strong cinnamon type presence. All in all a very good bourbon! -
My friend and I split a bottle together. Excited to try. Nose - a light nose. I smell nail polish. Cinnamon spice. Bananas, and apricots, hints of red wine. Apples and vanilla. I for some reason also smell white chocalote after adding two drops of water. Tongue - This whisky shines on the palate more than the nose. An oily taste but the feel. It does have a wine like flavor, a dry red wine. Immediately spicy, as in the spice hits within 2 seconds of tasting. It is sweet like a pears and apples. Mildy bitter as well. After two drops, it got much more sweeter. And the spice lingers! Mainly cinnamon spice amd hits of nutmeg. I’d say medium finish! Easy sipper if yiu can handle the spice. Overall a very very good dram for a blend! Has character and charm!
