First pour from a newly opened bottle.
Nose has some vanilla and baking spice. Hard for me to get much more beyond that.
Palate was very much baking spice and oak. Very woody on this pour. Vanilla makes a slight appearance, but at least for this first pour, i wouldn’t call it a sweet bourbon. One sip had a brief pop of citrus (lemon?) and black pepper.
Finish is not terribly long and all that remained was really the tannic oak woodiness for me.
I’d also say I was surpsied that some sips seemed quite hotter than the ABV would suggest.
Overall, hoping the bottle improves over the next few pours.
