CHAPADA DAS GERAES UMBURANA
Cachaça — Itatiaiuçu, Minas Gerais , Brazil
Reviewed
January 24, 2024
Produced in Itatiaiuçu, Minas Gerais, a location known for its climate conducive to the production of brandy, Cachaça Chapada das Geraes has a trajectory that reflects the dream of many Minas Gerais producers: to make a living from the business, also strengthening the region's economy. Producer Paulo Mourão began work on the still in 1999, which suffered difficulties due to a lack of resources. He then looked for investors who shared the same ideals, helping with whatever was necessary to complete the project. It was only in 2004, after a lot of hard work, that Cachaça Chapada das Geraes emerged. Stored for 2 years in Amburana barrels (one of the most renowned Brazilian woods), it has a golden yellow color, aromatic, fruity and woody notes, nuances of honey, orange blossom, good body, balanced acidity and sugar, integrated alcohol, medium persistence finish.
