Nose - Fruit cake, light oak and toasted leather, cinnamon. Almost has this caramel, tobacco quality to it that makes it addicting to smell. where are you from?
Palate - First sip has lots of cinnamon and barrel char. Second sip has some cherry notes followed by heavy amounts of bitter oak. Third sip brings some notes of caramel with a more subtle approach to the first sip, definitely one that is complex and needs to breathe.
Finish - Finish is a lot of the nose weirdly, in a good way weird. Has that cinnamon, barrel char, caramel and tobacco thing going on. Very nice finish thats different than a typical stagg jr.
Overall not my favorite stagg jr because it is quite harsh on the palate even after opening, but a very solid option.
