Tastes
-
Nose - Lots of berries, cream, charred leather, toasted oak, hints of honey, mandarin, apricot. Extremely complex and keeps changing. Berry skittles. Palate - More of that toasted tight leather. Some more bright berry and soft vanilla (cream). A small amount of smoke from a charred oak. Finish - Nice and warm buttered cinnamon and barrel spice.
-
Nose - Some bitter peat, dried apricot, plum, stained lightly toasted leather. Palate - Light, smooth, maybe some bitter wood and more of that dried apricot/plum. Its a light fruity note, nothing crazy but nice and easy to sip on. Theres some herbal/vegetale notes as well that kind of pair well with the dry fruit. Almost like it would be a great whiskey to have with a charcuterie board. Finish - A very light a smooth version of the palate. Not my speed but definitely one of the better scotch’s ive had.
-
Nose - Loads of honey and maple. Theres some oak and tobacco that accompanies the sweet notes, but definitely a lot of honey and some cinnamon. Palate - Theres some honey coated mint thats obvious. Maybe some toasted oak lingers along with some leather. Definitely some cinnamon on the back end of the palate. Finish - Lots of barrel spice and cinnamon warms you. Theres some light condensed milk that softens it but def spicy.
-
Nose - Phenomenal nose! Loads of dulce de leche, mixed with condense milk on top of a blonde brownie. TSuch a sweet, and complex desserty nose. It legit smells like a freshly baked cake with cream cheese frosting, sweet and thick. Palate - Yea thats nice, might be the best gts off the bat. Nice and sweet with lots of barrel char, spice, and cinnamon. Definitely get more of that vanilla cake with a side of vanilla cola. Finish - Some more cola, oak, cinnamon, pepper, all over a layer of vanilla custard. Awesome pour
-
Nose - Banana bread, toffee crunch, theres some lemon zest like a lemon bar, lots if baking goods, a dash if baking spice to top it. Palate - More of that toffee, like a toffee cake with cinnamon that lays over a top of icing. Theres more of that lemon bar that comes through. Finish - Light, some baking spice and vanilla icing.
-
*** MBS *** Nose - Some cinnamon some baking spice. Theres some burnt smokiness in here like a fresh burnt oak. Theres some vanilla sweetness but its not the highlight of the nose. Some bt cherry if course. Palate - Its thin but really nice and more complex than a regular BT. Some baking spice, cherry, and leather. Simple combination but works well to be complex on the spice Finish - Some cherry and cinnamon. Hotter on the way down but not overbearing.

Reviewed August 17, 2024*** 143 *** Nose - Smells the same as the 139 with more clean ethanol. Palate - Again, very similar to the 139 but this feels like it has more banana on the mid palate that then turns into honey. Not as hot on the palate. Finish - Okay here its hotter for sure. Not as oaky and def more sweet than the 139 but they are both very close and similar. -

Reviewed August 17, 2024*** 139 *** Nose - Just straight ethanol. Gonne let it open up. Okay lets go back, some banana, peanuts, and honey. Massive amount of cinnamon and spice. Palate - Definitely some peanuts, baking spice, cinnamon, and some toasted oak. There is a small sweet note that kind of carries everything together. Like some of that banana and a little vanilla. Finish - Just so hot lmao. Really lingers in your chest for a while. But its got some oak some honey and more of those peanuts. -
*** CRAZY UNCLE MIKES *** Nose - A massive bomb of vanilla and cherry. Oak and leather. Some plum, maybe drops of peach. Honey as it opens. Palate - Dude that is the classic stagg profile to the highest degree. Oak leather vanilla baking spice. Some slight nuttiness. Theres some cherry cola in there too that kind of sneaks behind everything else giving it a pleasant taste on the back end, Finish - Oak. Some cinnamon. Burnt leather. Some vanilla and cherry hang around in the background, very complimentary.
