There's apple and vanilla that's easily on the nose. Almost dessert like. Nice burnt oak in there as well. Spice is present.
The palate opens with spice and cinnamon. That apple and vanilla then come through as dark caramel and oak continue throughout to the finish.
It's dark caramel heavy. The oak is present but well balanced throughout. Manages to have some decedent quality to it while the heat and oak are present.
To be a bit critical, it tastes as if it's more proofy than it is. (I was a bit surprised by the proof on my single barrel bottle.) With that, it's still very easy to drink and very flavorful.
I wouldn't sleep on this.
Cheers everybody.
