A good average bourbon. Notes of spice, some orange and a little bit of vanilla present along with a good amount of oak and caramel. The nose and the palate match up pretty well. It seems to me like theres a good amount of rye going on with the spice present. Im noticing some mint as well. It would make for a good introductory sipper, and perhaps mixer. I'll let you know.

Barrel#5073 Bottle#15 119.24 proof. This one is a butterscotch bomb. Sweet caramel and toffee. Burnt oak and pepper. 4/5 on the nose. The flavor brings those same notes back along with some rye spice. Interestingly, with adding water it brings nore of that rye spice front and center along with some oak and extra spice on the finish. Its an easy drinking higher proof. 4.25/5 on the pallete.

Isaac Bowman Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Barrels

Reviewed March 22, 2026Sweet cherry notes that go into baking spices and a dark caramel. Really good bottle for the price. -
If I didnt know it, I would have thought this was well above 100 proof. It runs hot. I get floral and some grass beyond the heat. Oak and cinnamon as well with a little more grass on the finish. This is strictly a mixer bottle where the heat can add dimension. Even with that though, this wouldn't be my first recommendation.

This is a similar rating to a different batch Ive had ages ago, which I completely forgot about. MM is overall, really consistent. Notes of cherry, apple, chocolate, maple syrup and dark caramel. On the finish it changes some into a kind of bitter oak note. Its unique to say the least but really nice. Theres heat but not in a negative way. Usually I dont care for when water is added to a higher proof, I enjoy the higher proofs for what they are. But, this one does really well with a few drops of water.

Reviewed February 27, 2026 (edited April 11, 2026)Some toasty oak, spices with slight vanilla sweetness in the back. Slightly floral as well. Very drinkable while also having some complexity to it. -
Bit of a spiced cherry bomb with this one. Noticeable on both the palate and nose. It has a thick mouthfeel which lingers quite a bit with a flavor I cant quite grasp along with some leather. It tastes a bit above 107 I think, but not in a bad way. Perhaps because I take it as a spicy note rather than just blistering heat. It does add something.

Booker's Bourbon Batch 2024-02 "The Beam House Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 10, 2026Oak, chocolate, dark berry. Great flavors here. -
Some apple, heavy oak and pepper on the nose along with a little bitter caramel. The flavor profile doesnt sit great with me. It opened up with a slight fruit note at the beginning, but dissipates quickly. Oak heavy. More on the nutry side with some burn near the end. Its a bit hotter than what the proof is. Its an okay bottle. Some of the flavors work alright together, but its pretty average.
