The nose is a fine example of what a rye should smell like. Peppery, with a smidge of mint and sweet brown sugar intertwined with vanilla. The taste offers no surprises following the notes obtained on the nose. Black pepper hits the back of the throat and lingers there for a long while. The vanilla and brown sugar coat the roof of the mouth, triggering a salivating effect that creates the want for the next sip. Outstanding rye!!! Great neat, and exceptional in an Old Fashioned.
