The nose is pleasantly gentle with a wonderful mix of oak and ripe fruit, with just a touch of dried flowers alongside it. Hints of vanilla and molasses slowly make their way out as it takes on notes of sweet, fruity cake.
The palate is somewhat chewy fills the mouth to the corners with sharp oak, fruit and a mild burst of pepper. Vanilla and some mild baking spices follow, while the sweetness is definitely tamed and not as forward as on the nose. This is very full bodied and rich, without being complex.
The finish is medium with lingering spice and stays somewhat chewy as the rest of the palate fades. It almost fades too quick which really holds this back a bit. It is otherwise a fantastic whiskey.
