Cachaça Flor das Gerais is produced in the municipality of Felixlândia, in the Central region of Minas Gerais. The first still was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by the family patriarch, who led production until the 1940s, when the craft became the responsibility of one of his three sons. The composition of cachaças aged for at least 24 months in Jequitibá-Rosa (Cariniana legalis) and Amburana (Amburana Cearensis), results in the “blend” prepared by Mr. Adão, in 2007. This ancient blend, in recent years, has become made cachaça a reference for Flor das Gerais. Color: Translucent, Yellow. Body: Intense shine, strong gold. Moderate/high oiliness with the formation of dense and well-defined tears. Aroma: Well-defined sweetness, varying between vanilla and caramel. It also has an aroma of some spices such as fennel, cardamom and notes of chestnuts and coconut. Subtle alcoholic and very low acidity. Palate: As a striking characteristic of cachaças aged in Amburana, it has a marked sweetness that reminds us of caramel and molasses. As well as the aroma, the palate also reveals notes of chestnuts, fennel and coconut. Present and lasting aftertaste and moderate acidity. Source: Flor da Gerais website.
