Single Malt — Islands, Scotland

Nose is light, white fruits with an undercurrent of old grass clippings. Palate opens with apples and honey, becomes slightly sweeter like honeydew melon and then closes with oak tannins and wood shavings. Nicely smooth, creamy and gently warming, with great legs in the glass. Wish I had better luck finding this in the states.

@Adaminak @cascode I had the Port Pipe two nights ago; from a 30 ml sample. Only 3100 bottles or so were made, one and done. If I ever see a bottle I’m buying it.
@DrRHCMadden @Adaminak I'll second that. Tobermory was very hit-or-miss back a decade or two ago, but the current releases are all bangin', both the unpeated Tobermory and even more so the peated Ledaig. For me it's one of the best value for money distilleries in current whisky.
I am now on the hunt for the Port finished Tobermory!
This is such a unsung hero malt. For their entry level offering along with Ledaig 10, Tobermory are absolutely smashing it. As rare as this is in the USA, if you see the port pipe finished version; buy it all!
Good to hear this is a 4 star dram. I have a bottle stashed away and now I’m inspired to open it soon. Cheers,
