The nose is a mixture of sugar and spice.....caramel, vanilla, brown sugar and green apple make up the sweet with also a small amount of grapefruit. The spice is a small amount of oak and rye with black pepper and a gentle amount of cinnamon. Very pleasant. On the palate the spices fill the throat with a gentle amount of burn while brown sugar, caramel, and vanilla come forward and coat the roof of the mouth. Green apple and cherry also come forth. The finish is not very long but what remains in the mouth is pleasant. Being the base product from Buffalo Trace with a product this solid makes the hunt for their other higher end products very worthwhile.
