Cachaça — Felixlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Reviewed

Cachaça Flor das Gerais is produced in the municipality of Felixlândia, in the Central region of Minas Gerais. The first still was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by the family patriarch, who led production until the 1940s, when the craft became the responsibility of one of his three sons. Information: Aged for at least 24 months in Oak (Quercus sp). We started using American and French barrels, which brought different aromas to our product line, back in 1990 and the cachaça aged in them is still a favorite among consumers.
Color: Translucent, Straw Gold.
Body: Intense and moderate yellowish shine. Moderate/high oiliness with the formation of dense and well-defined tears.
Aroma: Strong presence of spices such as cloves and cardamom followed by a sweet aroma of vanilla with notes of nuts and sweet banana. Intense woody, low acidity and balanced alcohol.
Mouth: Complex and velvety. It starts with a medium sweetness that highlights notes of vanilla and molasses, ending with a striking, dry and long-lasting woody aftertaste. Low acidity and bitterness. Fonte Flor das Gerais website.
