The history of Cachaça Engenho São Luiz began in 1906, when José Zillo and his brothers founded the distillery in the Rocinha neighborhood, in Lençóis Paulista, in the interior of São Paulo. Cachaça production was maintained by Gino Zillo, José's brother, until 1971. Decades later, in 2007, Luiz Santana Zillo, José's grandson, and his children revived the family's origins by creating Engenho São Luiz. Thus, since its conception, Engenho São Luiz was carefully designed to produce still cachaça through rigorously controlled processes and with restricted production volume, to guarantee unique quality. Two years later, the first harvest for the production of cachaça from the new phase of the distillery began. In 2014, the peak: for the first time Engenho São Luiz exported a drink to the international market. Cachaça Augusta was sent to New York, in the United States. Cachaça Engenho São Luiz Premium Amburana 750ml is a premium drink, aged for one and a half years in amburana barrels, a typical Brazilian wood. Light, with an alcohol content of 40%. Smoother and softer, with a slightly sweet, fruity aroma and hints of spice. Only two thousand units of this distillate are produced per year. Packaged in traditional kaleido bottles.
