The Botanist Gin
Modern Gin — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed
November 6, 2024 (edited November 15, 2024)
The Botanist's Gin greets the senses with aromas of juniper, coriander, and citrus. The crisp entry reveals a palate of juniper and licorice. The finish is marked by baking spices and ginger. The 22 additional Islay botanical herbs seem unnecessary, as juniper, coriander, licorice, and citrus dominate the aroma, taste, and finish. The Botanist's Gin is a good gin straight and mixed.

@cascode .I agree with you. The Botanist is a decent gin but not my cup of gin . It's juniper presence is lesser due to an unnecessary 22 islay herbs added besides juniper, coriander and citrus.
@Tango66 I used to love this but my tastes changed over time and I stopped buying it. It's a great spirit and 4 stars for sure but my preference is for juniper-heavy gin now.
