Very surprised by this pour tonight. I’ve had it open now a couple of weeks after trying it fresh crack. The nose is still gas a lot of ethanol at first but you get more notes this time around. Very fruity with some sweetness, vanilla & floral notes. The palate was dominated by fresh red fruits. (Like a strawberry, raspberry cobbler). A little floral but balanced with some sweetness & oak. There is a burn towards the end of the palate. Long finish that had a nice build up.
Overall:
I think this will continue to open up with time. I have to knock this down a peg because of how hot this is. I will play around with adding a couple of drops of water to see if that helps. I love the flavor profile and the finish of this pour.
For context, GTS ‘22 was clearly better than this when side by side.
