NEAT
NOSE - Campfire Ash, Blackberries, Raisin and Honey. Surprisingly, the peat on the nose is somewhat faint. I’d expect to this be a peat monster being cask strength but it is quite the opposite. It’s very rich in sherry notes on the nose which is a pleasant surprise.
PALATE - Rich, viscous, and syrupy thick. Initially, there is a rush of blackberry jam and raisins that hits the front of the palate. As I work the whisky around on my palate, the liquid coats my entire palate with remnants of honey.
FINISH - Peppery and smoky. The peat here is savory and not medicinal.
BUY? - Yes!
BUY AGAIN? - Without question. Thankfully, this is widely available and a reasonable price. Cheers!
