Broken Barrel Reserve Oak Series Finished with Peach Brandy Staves
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Difficult to describe neat. Nose is subtle hard oak, little dark fruit in there, some leather, earthy, hint of peach. Pallet is spicy, leathery, definitely oakey, peppery (cayenne), oily, not much of peach influence in the taste, definitely high proof burn on the front and back of the pallet, even down the esophagus. Finish is sort of unbalanced, lasts a while with spice/pepper burn with a little remnant, very little peach flavor hint that lingers on the roof of the mouth. Tinny almost.
With a small melted ice cube. Little caramel cones out, but still oakey. Only thing sweet about the nose, is the very faint peach fruit influence (barely). On the pallet, with an ice cube, there's some floral notes on the pallet. The water introduces a terpentine like flavor, slightly metallic. High proof burn is spicy, peppery and strong.
Not gonna lie, it's gonna take a while to finish this bottle. Not a subtle, overly flavorful pour that screams i can't wait to pour another. This was my Friday night pour after not having a taste all week, was hoping for a little better profile for the cost of $55. I'm a strong amateur, but there's better $55 bourbons on the shelf.
