On the nose, strong opening notes of caramel which give way to a vanilla. Hints of toffee intermingle between the two. On the palette, a bold heat comes in on the tip of the tongue and dances around the sides before hitting the back of the throat and simmering through the sinuses. Characteristic of a higher proof spirit without being overpowering or abrassive. Similar to the nose, the caramel enters bolding but quickly gives way to a spicy middle with hints of citrus and a rye-style creaminess on a bed of wood spice. The finish sneaks in vanilla notes and caries the warmth down to about the middle of the chest as the sweet, spicy, and woody notes agreeably roll off the palette.
