Tarnished brass in color. Slow forming but fast moving legs irregularly spaced across the glass. Nose is quite oaky. Burnt caramel, feed corn, and damp hay. Confectionery notes pop through. Soft on the pallet and immediately sweet, it gets spicy and hot pretty quickly thereafter. Reminiscent of a dark cola. Some red cherries there, brown sugar, and lots of baking spice. Its got a nice woody finish. A bit dry with a well drawn out finish that's mostly barrel with a few hints of vanilla and creme brulee. Its by far the most complex and pleasant offering from benchmark I've had.
