a stupendously nice cognac - “refined and supple” as stated on the label; subtle and nuanced, probably too nuanced for a vsop - truly worthy of an XO status if not by the rank but by the details dried pears and apricots, caramel and vanilla sweetness, toffee and chocolate, nuts and peppery pungency - all in great balance
