Salted peanuts with caramel ice cream to the accompany of the everlasting but somewhat delicate smoke and fumes. An absolute bargain, not even talking about the value/price ratio but the the overall sensation.

Mixed feelings. Too biting, a bit messy and a bit unbalanced at times, but undoubtedly rich and multilayered. The Sherry cask, on one hand, brings the diversity to the flavour, yet on the other - it makes the spiritousness and wheatyness more tangible and palpable in a way. Acetone and tar, cold smoke. Caramel, raisins and nuts. JW Black Label vibes (he-he).

The Glenlivet 15 is deeply dear to my heart but I’ll leave the sentiments to myself and be brief. Absolutely in love with this rich creamy nuttiness and vanilla spices. Nothing more to wish.

Life lesson #69 - when you mastered something to the godly level you better stick to it. I mean it’s a nice whiskey, but it’s really a cognac in a whiskey clothing. I’d rather prefer either a cognac in cognac or a whiskey in whiskey.

Definitely the closest one to Lagavulin 16 in terms of everything. And now, with the gap in price, a standard full-time replacement for the great late Laga.

Stony and mineral, cold and monolithic. Very nice neat, not for a fast consuming - great as a leisurely digestive.

I always find Laphroaig tough to love. Unlike its peaty comrades it somehow lacks a soul, becomes too technical and heavy. It’s undescribable to some measure but still I tried.
