I’ll admit, this bourbon caught me off guard—in the best way. I’m no expert, and I won’t pretend to pick out every “note” that seasoned tasters talk about. But I do know what I enjoy, and this one hit the mark.
I usually gravitate toward sweeter, wheated bourbons and tend to shy away from double oaked expressions. So I was surprised by how much I liked this. It’s oaky, but not overwhelmingly so—just enough to add depth without overpowering the palate.
The best way I can describe it: well-balanced, rich, and incredibly easy to sip neat. It has a smoothness that invites you back for another pour. On the rocks, though, it loses some of the character that makes it special, so I’d recommend enjoying it neat.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Cheers.
