Richard-Davenport
Hazelburn 8 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland

Not inconsistent with my previous note (10/6/23). Dried pineapple, saline, dried apricot, pears in syrup, a little iodine, and a slight smokiness that belies the lack of peat. A little oily on the palate , ...white pepper note, the Springbank peanut brittle, a little bitterness (espresso? caramelized sugar?) on the finish.
For its apparent complexity, I much prefer the older Hazelburn expressions, as well as virtually all its Springbank cousins. This is pretty scarce, and I wouldn't pay up to replenish this bottle, once empty.

@cascode for me, anything Springbank = yes please!
I've never tasted this one but I do have a first batch Hazelburn 12 year old waiting to be opened. I have high hopes.
