Macallan 12 Double Oak is the synonym of elegance. Its dark amber color and its balance is remarkable. I agree their price tag is too high for what they deliver. I agree their brand sells by itself so they can mass produce and reduce their ABV to the lowest level. But still their flavor profile is very hard to imitate. If we can forget about the orice tag, here’s why it’s great: On the nose - Raisin, prune, tobacco box On the palate - dried fruits, charred oak, tobacco, toffee, nutty finish It’s a great dram! The flavor profile is really what I love about whisky. Great sherry notes and it really delivers. Is it expensive? Yes, very much so. Still great dram! Cheers!
