Aroma - lots of dark fruits and caramel coming through. Lots of vanilla cake notes … lightly charred marshmallow… Light notes of baking spices. Really nice balance here. Solid.
Taste - oak, hints of butterscotch and sometimes even slight marshmallow. As it opens, the rye profile kicks in… baking spices, winter green gum.
Overall - For the proof it has a really nice flavor profile and the finish is above average. In fact I think it drinks above its proof too which makes it a bit more intriguing for me. This is a really nice bottle and I’d be happy to pull the trigger on it again at the $50 price point.
