The nose is full of bold fruit and creamy oak, with notes of barely mixed in. Cinnamon spice cake soon comes out, as does a bit of brown sugar. It is very fruity and creamy, reminding you of the perfect Christmas dessert.
The palate is spicy, creamy and sweet, as well as somewhat dry. As a wave of barely and fruit sweep across the mouth, the spice intensifies. It is a lot bolder than you would think, but everything is in amazing balance. Richness comes out as it settles a bit, really bringing home how cakelike this is.
The finish is long, creamy, spicy and a bit fruity. It is stunning to drink and experience. The got the combination right with cask strength from new oak. This will be sorely missed.
