The nose is sweet, with honey and hay presenting immediately, with oak and barley also coming out. It is very full and fresh, featuring an interesting blend. It is a "teaspoon" blend, that while the bulk of it is Glenfiddich, a tiny amount of a secondary Scotch has been added to it.
The palate is dry and easy going, filling the mouth with honey, hay and barley. There is a bit of a spice that eventually hits the corners of the mouth with a bit of a chew. Impressive how full this is without being overpowering, considering its age and being cask strength. This is simplicity at its best.
The finish is medium long with lingering spice and hay, with the sweetness fading in favor of the stronger notes. This is absolutely brilliant and is going to be painfully missed.
