CACHAÇA POKA ARMAZENADA EM CARVALHO

Cachaça — Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil

Reviewed March 5, 2026

3.0 out of 5 stars
Founded in 2022, the Poka Distillery was born on the Poka farm in Viçosa, Minas Gerais, to fulfill the dream of producing excellent cachaça. Employing technology without losing tradition, the distillery combines quality, sustainability, and tradition. Natural resources: pure water, fertile soil, and sugarcane of selected varieties. Production is conducted with artisanal technique and sensitivity, valuing each stage — from manual harvesting to natural fermentation, to distillation in a copper still. Launched in 2023, Poka Cachaça is aged for 18 months in European oak barrels, its enchanting golden-yellow color a symbol of its visual elegance and balanced maturation. This aging in noble wood provides a harmonious extraction of aromas and flavors, resulting in a beverage with a rich and complex personality. With an alcohol content of 40%, this cachaça captivates at first glance. Its golden appearance reflects the aging process. On the nose, smooth notes of wood intertwine with hints of vanilla, honey, and nuances of almonds, chocolate, and dried fruit. There is also a slight presence of young cachaça, which adds freshness and preserves the essence of sugarcane. On the palate, it is striking and well-structured, with layers of flavor that reveal themselves without hiding the character of the base spirit. The velvety and full-bodied texture provides a warm and smooth sensation, typical of quality cachaças aged in oak, but without any aggressiveness. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a balanced combination of vanilla, wood, and dried fruit on the palate, reinforcing the complexity of the drink. Poka Carvalho is ideal for moments of contemplation or sophisticated pairings—such as cured cheeses, smoked meats, or desserts with dried fruit. A cachaça to be savored slowly, which translates tradition, elegance, and authenticity in every sip. Taste it. Feel it. Toast with Poka. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional
