Visual: dark amber, think, slow, evenly-spaced legs. A really hearty, strong dram. Very impressive from a tiny distillery.
Nosing: Has this musty, herbal scent. Roasted tortilla chips, black pepper, cloves, cumin, and cinnamon. Some muted vanilla and salted caramel.
Tasting: very sweet with a long, dry finish. Lots of vanilla, oak, and black pepper. Strong and hot. Definitely reminiscient of salted caramel ice cream. A certain brininess probably due to the B.C. Coast. Lots going on here.
Reduced Nosing: that funky must is more pronounced with added water. Much more oak, vanilla, and sweet caramel, sweet grilles peaches and vanilla ice cream.
Reduced Tasting: with added water, it's much more smooth. Buttery toffee and caramel come to mind. Lots of baking spices as well.
