Yellowstone 8 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Recollection Series)

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Buttersotch cherry. Dried pineapple and dried apriocts. Little tart cherry on the finish. Light oily texture. The alcohol is present so at first sip I didnt like letting it sit on the pallet too long but small sips helped. Also letting it sit in the glass helped let the alcohol dissipate and not overtake the nose. I got it for $54 so I’ma little more forgiving on the criticism of what this is wrt price and age. Sipper? Sure. Its damn good for todays pricing scheme. At $70 I might be more of a critic. At the price point I would have spent the price of the bottle on two pours at a bar. I have yet to find pours of anything that are priced low enough to try before I buy. So for me: Buy. Sip. Revisit. Revisit again. Pass it to a friend. Still come out ahead.
