Blade and Bow 12 Year Solera Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 10, 2026 (edited July 11, 2026)Cant seem to pick out flavors tonight but this is bright and fruity front to middle with oak on th back of the palate and fades into a syrupy medium length finish. Butterscotchy and hint of baking spice. It’s surprisingly good since i dont tend to like their base offering. Fun and worth a try. If you dig something like sherry influenced low proofers i can see this working for you. Might not work for proof hounds or Texas bourbon purists. I didn’t buy two but now that I tried it I probably will grab another.68.0 USD per Bottle -

Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed June 6, 2026 (edited June 8, 2026)This is on par with my fave cask strength scotch Glendronach CS BATCH 10. I dont even known how to describe it just yet but its got an amazing finish that lingers. I find it crazy that this was put out in 2021 but i just grabbed it in 2026. Its a great batch i might have to get a back up75.0 USD per Bottle -

Old Fitzgerald 9 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon (Spring 2025)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 9, 2026 (edited April 11, 2026)Expert tasting notes seem right. Except the bay leaf part. Now I need to taste a bay leaf. I got the peach flavor on the end. Its just damn good bourbon that I didn’t expect to be this good at 9 yrs. The 7 yr old fitz is decent but not to this level. The 13 yr i tried was better but not by a lot. Crazy how good this is for the age. Really good barrel selection imo. -
Yellowstone 8 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Recollection Series)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 8, 2026 (edited April 11, 2026)Buttersotch cherry. Dried pineapple and dried apriocts. Little tart cherry on the finish. Light oily texture. The alcohol is present so at first sip I didnt like letting it sit on the pallet too long but small sips helped. Also letting it sit in the glass helped let the alcohol dissipate and not overtake the nose. I got it for $54 so I’ma little more forgiving on the criticism of what this is wrt price and age. Sipper? Sure. Its damn good for todays pricing scheme. At $70 I might be more of a critic. At the price point I would have spent the price of the bottle on two pours at a bar. I have yet to find pours of anything that are priced low enough to try before I buy. So for me: Buy. Sip. Revisit. Revisit again. Pass it to a friend. Still come out ahead.54.0 USD per Bottle -
Ton of flavor and to me its complex meaning rhe flavors continually evolve and surprise the senses. I THINK I cand taste and don’t like Tennessee whiskey in blends and this blend proves me wrong. Barrell alwsys seems overpriced but then I get hold of one or 6 different ones and they have all been pleasantly surprising.

Knob Creek Blender's Edition 01

Reviewed March 12, 2026 (edited April 26, 2026)Its not sour but it activates those tastebuds. Tangy maybe. Good stuff. Tastes like a sweeter bookers maybe. Will have to try next to KC12 and KC21 and KC18 and with a little cube and as a mixer. Its great and $40.40.0 USD per Bottle -
Stagg Rye? Going to regret saying that when these become hard to find. It has a cherry thing going with the spice but cherry wasn’t available as a flavor choice on the app. Very nice sip. Sure it’ll make a great cocktail but its nice as a sipper. Little water or ice is up next to see if it helps or hurts the flavor on this one. If any previous releases of anything are an indicator( WT70 8yr, Smokeye hill BP, etc) if you like this first release then grab two. Future releases are almost guaranteed to be lower in quality or simply not to your liking. Example wild turkey killed it with the 70th and now the standard 8 yr is mid at best and this is coming from a Turkey fan.
