Nose: vanilla, sweet vegetal (almost rum like), floral
Taste: floral, spices,
Finish: vanilla, caramel, vegetal
I was pleased with this whiskey, usually canadian whiskeys are a lot harsher, but compared to other whiskeys this one is delicate on the palate.
While i was sipping Caribou crossing it almost reminded me of a rum. I know that canadian whiskey can have additives similar to rum. However i looked it up and caribou crossing doesnt have additives according to barrel banter forum.
I found this whiskey fairly simple for the price. I was hoping for a little bit more complexity. However, it may be the best canadian whiskey I have ever had. I also wished it was a little higher proof than 80. I didn’t add water because of that.
Overall, i think the price is mainly for the bottle not the whiskey inside. Which the marketing on the bottle is amazing. I probably won’t buy another unless it’s a gift for someone who likes pendleton.
