Nose: on the bose i get the sweetness of caramels and brown sugar with toffee and a rye spice hidden in that background. The ABV is present but not overly strong for 58%. Taste: On the pallet the ABV makes its self known as well at the peppery clove spices of the rye, with the sweetness of vanilla and maple hidding in the complexity. Has the quintessential velvet mouth feel and smoothness you expect from Canadian whisky. *** special consideration*** Once the whisky has sat in the glass in your hand and warmed up evaporating some of of the alcohol vapors in the glass, the flavor transforms to a creamy velvet maple syrup in both taste and smell. It is a totally different experience vs the room temp pour. Finish: medium short finish with the sweetness lingering and some lingering spice. If warmed the maple syrup flavors are a pleasent after taste.
