Pallet is creamy and full , notes of chocolate covered red fruits and caremel, the vanilla is present bit not overpowering. The rye spice comes thru with a pepery spice more than baking spice. The finish is medium long with a rye spice forward flavor. The after taste is a pleasant apple peal, soft and delicate. Over all a wonderful whisky.115.0 USD per BottleFountain City Social

A deep amber color with a thinner viscosity Nose: light with the distinctive pot still nuances , sweet honey and slight vanilla notes. Very pleasant especially as it opens up with sugary spices. Pallet: malted barley grassy notes very floral up front. Sweetness appears in the middle with a slight vanilla note and kitchen spices. On the back, fruit of pears and apple peal. Finish: finish is medium short with a pleasant aftertaste of light fruits and peals. Overall a pleasant pour easy sipping. Not the best flavor as its a very light body.

Glenfiddich Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask 19 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 5, 2022 (edited July 12, 2022)Second Nose (added water): The water definitely smoothed out the nose a lot. It’s much softer than the first nose. The aroma of flowers and green grasses appear. The fruits appear but ripe dry fruits as well as the barley. Second pallet (water added): Very soft and more thin of course. The water takes the spice down quite a bit. If Neat is too much for you then adding the water made this more approachable. The pallet opened up to a more feminine floral grassy flavor with barely coming to the front. Second finish: is much shorter. It leaves the flavor or green grasses behind. It is a tad on the dry side with water added.Pensacola -
Nose: Very sweet with brown cinnamon sugars and cereal grains just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. You can definitely smell the spices of the rye but they are quite over powered by the sweetness of the dark sugars. This is an amazing nose. Pallet: as in the nose the first flavors are Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a mellow mouth feel. But that quickly gives way to the heat spices of cinnamon, clove, all spice. Very reminiscent of Christmas time. A wonderful dram to enjoy on a cool winter or fall evening. Finish: the finish is medium long with a dry “back of the throat” feel. Leaving the fresh green flavor of the rye spices behind. It makes the pallet beg for more.Pensacola

Glenfiddich Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask 19 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed June 5, 2022First Nose: heavy cherry and vanilla coming off the top with a slight clove hint underneath. Very slight peaty aroma but as it’s a Speyside that’s not surprising. Deeper in is some cinnamon and ginger. Almost zero alcohol tennis coming off the nose. First pallet: it starts off very approachable quite soft with a nice sweetness. You can definitely get the bourbon vanilla and caramel, toffee notes that are big and rich right off the bat. It then begins to open into a nice spice of clove and ginger with a small amount of cinnamon. Finish: medium the spice fades to a fruity dried peal of apple and pears.Pensacola -
Color: a light Straw similar to a younger scotch Nose: creamy vanilla, caramel, candied toffee and brown sugar. The nose is oh so sweet very pleasant and pretty in depth for a young whisky. I’m pretty sure this is a wheated whiskey as well. Pallet: Just like the Nose the pallet slams home with a big rich vanilla butterscotch and butter cream note, the mouth feel is quite nice and mouth coating, a small hint of brown spices appears. The note of baked cinnamon bread dances along the tongue into the finish. “Chewing” brings out a creamy fruitiness which I enjoyed. Finish: the finish is medium-shot but the after taste is very nice leaving light fruits and vanilla behind. This is a well done wheated whiskey made in KY by IJW distillery. One of my favorite bottles for an amazing price.25.0 USD per Bottle

Color: an apricot hue almost orange copper Nose: light and delicate. Some alcohol tannins but not much. A slight toasted bread note. Cinnamon and brown spices are very present. Leather in the back. No real fruitiness to speak of. Pallet: initially sweet, like a dark fruit jam over a piece of toast. In the middle spiciness makes an appearance with cinnamon and allspice. On the backend a lingering cherry note. The oak and char his present for not overwhelming for a seven year old. Finish: The finish is medium, quite pleasant and lingering cherry and red fruity note all appears once the spice has dissipated. Overall very nicely balanced with sweet and spiciness. I was quite surprised at the level of spice with there being 0% rye all must’ve been brought in through maturation in the oak cask. I believe the Mashville on this particular whiskey is 51% wheat, 39% corn, and 10% malted barley.40.0 USD per Bottle

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 23, 2021 (edited December 20, 2021)Color: deep copper Nose: Toasted marshmallows, sweet vanilla, lightly toasted oak, and corn are topped with light fruit. The additional aging in a second barrel seems to have imparted less heavy wood and oak pulling forward the sweeter flavors. Comparably, Double Oaked presents a surprisingly more diverse and enjoyable experience. The second barrel is Toasted 5 times longer than the first but charred 1/5 of the time. Pallet: Oak and sweet vanilla are the dominant flavors here. light hints of leather, caramel, and dried dark fruits. A deeper sweetness than the original bourbon. The vanilla plays nicely with the woody oak flavors. Double Oaked manages to come across as richer and heavier in comparison to standard Woodford Reserve. Finish: The mildest of heat appears with dried fruits, rye spices, chocolates, and a leather sense. The oak leather and white pepper heat hangs on for a decent amount of time.55.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve happens to be the only distillery that is exclusively using pot stills to make their product. The distillery that was there prior had column stills but had not made whiskey since 1959. All of the old equipment was stripped out and repossessed. Woodford reserve started distilling in that location with pot stills only, and I believe is the only distillery left that distills exclusively in pot stills. Color: copper Nose: An array of old leather, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch. The rye makes an appearance and shows a bit of fruitiness. Pallet: semi sweet on the pallet a nice creamy mouth fill with notes of vanilla and caramel light fruits and rye spices. Finish: finishes medium leaving a aftertaste of oak vanilla and caramel.40.0 USD per Bottle

Color: is a copper hue Unfortunately I believe the whiskey is colored. Nose: Very complex and and delicate, hints of orange vanilla toffee, caramel, a creamy buttery softness, sherry notes coming from the middle with a slight Okey tone with an ever so general smoke. Pallet: Oh so sweet! Very feminine and soft on the tongue, mouth watering and coating blasting the pallet with notes of dark fruits plums, grapes, dark cherry. Add a splash of water and the fruit becomes brighter with citrus fruits of oranges and vanilla oak influences. Finish: is a soft warmness with a hint of brown spices appearing, the vanilla after taste is quite pleasant. It leaves the pallet longing for another sip. This dram is so refined and delicate. So soft on the pallet with no heat spiciness to speak off you can hold it in your Mouth as long as you please! Has to be one of my all time favorite scotch whiskies.150.0 USD per Bottle
