Coming into this after a pub trivia night so the palate is not very clean.
Nose: sweet and creamy, black pepper, smouldering wet coastal campfire/peatfire. Vanilla, fragrant charred oak. This time I'm getting a slight touch of lambic touched oak? A nice coastal salinity.
Palate: coastal, briny, roasted peanut, pepper. Charred oak bitterness. An undergirding bit of sweetness. I almost think I like this bottle more when it oxidizes a bit? While it brings out some notes I love I think it also it makes it sharper and less enjoyable overall.
Finish: phenolic, salty, lingering smoke, a bit of metallic acridity
