This whisky starts with a strong nose of leather and orange peel notes, lightly smoked. The sip is first candied fruits, then the peat comes and develops in the whole mouth, with sweet salty caramel notes. It lingers for a little while, the smoke and the umami of dark chocolate lingering a bit longer on the tongue. This is all very good, excellent indeed but this Bunnahabhain isn't a difficult whisky and many connoisseurs will probably miss more tactful tastes.
